Introduction

GD Energy Products (GDEP) manufactures pumps and related equipment for oil and gas operations worldwide. The Houston, Texas-based company wanted to increase its visibility with buyers in Argentina, particularly upstream oil and gas companies working in the Vaca Muerta Shale, and connect those buyers with its local sales team.

H
ighway 9 Consulting worked with GDEP’s marketing team and Argentina sales team to develop a localized Google Ads campaign. The pay-per-click (PPC) advertising campaign combined local market input with targeted search ads and a Spanish-language landing page tailored to oil and gas buyers in Argentina.

Problem

GDEP needed to reach a specialized audience in Argentina that included local operators, drilling contractors, engineers, and operations leaders responsible for high-pressure pumping applications. These buyers needed enough technical information to evaluate equipment for coiled tubing, cementing, acidizing, saltwater disposal, and well control.

Sending PPC traffic to GDEP’s broader corporate website would have required visitors to find the relevant products, applications, and regional contacts themselves. GDEP needed a direct path from a Google search to technical information prepared for the Argentina audience.

Solution

Highway 9 worked directly with GDEP’s Argentina sales team to understand the market and its equipment requirements. That input informed the Google Ads keyword targeting. It also guided the Spanish-language ads and landing page content.

The localized landing page introduced four well service pump options: the GD 600, GD Compact HD, GD 1000Q HD, and TEE Series. Buyers could review brake horsepower, rod load, pressure, flow rate, and configuration options, along with information about Redline™ consumables and NX™ fluid end technology.

References to Argentina, the Vaca Muerta Shale, and local sales and service support made the page specific to the market. The page then directed prospective buyers to GDEP’s Latin America team.

Results

From May 1 through July 31, 2026, the localized Google Ads campaign generated 104,704 impressions, 2,388 clicks, and 35 contacts through the well service pump landing page. Advertising spend totaled $3,356.26, resulting in a cost per contact of $95.89.

One campaign contact progressed into an $87,500 pending sale. At closing, this would equal approximately $26.07 in revenue for every $1 spent on advertising.

Reaching Oil and Gas Buyers Through Localized Google Ads

The campaign launched in March 2025 with an initial focus on brand awareness. As relevant search traffic developed, the strategy expanded to include lead generation, sales opportunities, and revenue.

Highway 9 localized the Google Ads campaign around the pumps, applications, and search terms most relevant to buyers in Argentina. The PPC ads reached people actively searching for pumping equipment and related oilfield applications.

The ads led visitors to a Spanish-language landing page focused on the products and information most relevant to the Argentina market. This technical content created a shorter path from a search to product information and a local sales contact.

The localization work adapted the existing marketing copy for buyers in Argentina. GDEP’s Argentina sales team helped identify the applications, product details, and regional support information buyers needed. The page connected GDEP’s more than 160 years of pump engineering experience with its sales and service presence in Latin America.

The campaign also increased GDEP’s visibility in paid search. Search impression share rose from 41.30% to 69.87%, a gain of 28.57 percentage points. Absolute top-of-page rate increased from 36.42% to 48.07%.

During the period analyzed, the number of competitors appearing in the Google Ads auction decreased from nine to three. By July 2026, GDEP outranked the remaining competitors approximately 68% to 70% of the time.
